Who is she?	Catherine Dudley - Portfolio Manager of State Street Research Mid-Cap Growth Fund
How do ya say her last name?	It's an easy one, "dud-lee".
How long has she been at her job?	Cathy joined State Street Research in 1998, has a B.A. in Economics and German from the University of Connecticut and has over 15 years of investment experience.
How has the fund performed?	Nicely. Through Sept. 30, it was up 15.66 percent. However, look back at the fund's past performance and what you won't see are the changes that have been made. For openers, the fund used to be called the Capital Fund and could invest its assets in small-, medium- or large-cap stocks. Today, the fund invests primarily in mid-cap growth companies and in March 2000 was renamed the Mid-Cap Growth Fund.
Anything interesting about her?	Sure. She has two children, ages 2 and 4, and, now that they can read, she and her husband are into singing songs with them. "We make up funny little tunes and rhymes about what's going on in their lives." When it comes to relieving stress in her life, you'll find this portfolio manager in her kitchen. "I really love to cook. If I've had a really bad week in the market, I'll get home and bake or cook." One of her specialties is making jam---from scratch. Cathy actually goes out, picks strawberries or blueberries or raspberries, makes the jam and then gives it to her family and friends.
