INVESCO FUNDS' NEW COMMERCIAL TO DEBUT DURING SUPER BOWL

Denver, CO - January 17, 2001 - INVESCO Funds Group announced today that as part of its national brand campaign it will premiere the third commercial in its "Masters of the Game" series during Super Bowl XXXV on January 28. "We have chosen to premiere our latest spot during the Super Bowl because of the game's broad consumer appeal. These commercials are part of a multi-dimensional brand campaign tied to a unique combination of media, marketing and advertising initiatives," said Mark Williamson, Chairman and CEO of INVESCO Funds.

The commercial, produced by The Richards Group of Dallas, Texas, is the third in the company's "Masters of the Game" series, which depicts prominent sports figures who brought new dimensions to their respective sports. The Super Bowl commercial will feature football coaching legend Bill Walsh. In the spot, Walsh correlates knowledge with having an edge on the competition, something Walsh is definitely familiar with, having won numerous Super Bowls. INVESCO Funds' other two television commercials feature former tennis champion Chris Evert and former basketball great Bill Russell.

According to Williamson, the media buy is just one component of a national campaign focused on drawing attention to the company's specialized investment expertise. "These ads are subtle, yet we believe they are incredibly powerful and bring tremendous value to the brand. The message is: knowledge is the edge. At INVESCO Funds, we use this same approach to seek superior investment performance for our clients. Our specialized knowledge of sectors and fundamental research help us look for otherwise unidentified investment opportunities," said Williamson.
