INVESCO FUNDS INTRODUCES SPEECH RECOGNITION SERVICE

Denver, CO ‚ April 19, 2001 ‚ INVESCO Funds Group announced today that it will incorporate a speech recognition feature into its Personal Account Line 800 number on May 1, 2001. Customers will be able to access their fund account information by simply speaking short commands, such as "price" or "account balance." William Galvin, Senior Vice President of Client Services, said that, "providing shareholders with premier services is our goal and this system offers step-by-step instructions and fast access to information. Shareholders can always request assistance or speak with an Investor Services Representative."

The INVESCO Funds Personal Account Line will provide shareholders with 24-hour access to their mutual fund accounts. This secure, automated system allows shareholders to conduct transactions, verify account balances, and review fund prices and performance information. The new speech recognition will automatically be available when people call in, however, the touch-tone service may still be chosen from the menu. Basic instructions are given at the beginning of each call. At the end of a request, the voice prompter will offer helpful hints to make the next request even easier.
