
STATE STREET RESEARCH INSTITUTIONAL GROUP NAMES SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT
BOSTON, MA, March 20, 2001-State Street Research announced today that John
de Luna has joined the firm as Senior Vice President of Business Development
in the Institutional Group. The announcement was made by Chris Abbott,
Executive Vice President, Head of Institutional Marketing and Client
Service. De Luna will be responsible for introducing State Street Research's
investment capabilities to corporate plan sponsors, public funds, endowments
and foundations throughout the Western United States.
"John's extensive investment management and financial services experience,
coupled with his first-hand knowledge of the Western states, will be
invaluable as we seek to expand our presence in those areas," stated Abbott
in the announcement.
Mr. De Luna joins State Street Research after spending over three years at
State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) most recently as a Principal responsible
for sales to public funds in 13 western states. Prior to SSgA, he was
employed by Scudder, Stevens and Clark where he was Director of Marketing
for the Reserve Asset Management Group. De Luna also established an
investment management presence on the West Coast for Irving Trust and the
Bank of New York. Prior to this, he worked for Crocker Bank where he was
responsible for interest rate hedge product sales and foreign central bank
relationships in the Capital Markets Group. He was also Assistant Regional
Manager to the Andean Pact Countries in Latin America in the International
Division.
De Luna received a B.S. in Psychology from Santa Clara University and a J.D.
from the Santa Clara University School of Law. He has been a Mentor to the
Toigo Foundation Fellows Program and has served on the Board of Directors
for the Mexican-American Bar Foundation for the last five and six years,
respectively.
