BOSTON, MA, September 6, 2001-State Street Research is pleased to announce
that Kevin Wilkins, Executive Vice President, Head of Investment Services,
has been offered admission to the National Conference for Community and
Justice (NCCJ) LeadBoston Class of 2002.
LeadBoston is a ten-month leadership development program that trains
leaders from every professional sector in understanding and managing
business priorities as they relate to civic leadership. Each year, 35 to 40
men and women from a broad range of professions and backgrounds in the
Greater Boston area are selected to participate.
The selection committee-civic leaders, LeadBoston alumni and NCCJ board
members-looks for candidates who have proven leadership in a civic or work
environment, a
desire to better understand diversity issues and the complex socio-economic
fabric of Boston and have high standards of professional and personal
integrity.
"LeadBoston offers the best opportunity for emerging civic leaders
to get involved with a variety of contemporary issues and to make a
difference in the Greater Boston area," said Jeannette DeJesus, Deputy
Executive Director, and Director, NCCJ's LeadBoston Program. "Whether it's
housing, education, criminal justice or economic development, Lead Boston is
the premier multi-cultural, cross industry group taking on the tough
issues."
The NCCJ, founded in 1927, is one of the nation's leading nonprofit,
non-sectarian human relations organizations. The Greater Boston Region of
NCCJ, founded in 1943, is one of 65 local chapters nationwide. NCCJ's
LeadBoston is the city's premier civic leadership development program.
Since 1991, the program has bridged racial, religious, ethnic, gender and
